They are wood standards include the Terminology, standard practices, specifications, and testing methods for the wood and wood products.
At Industrial Crating Pack & Services we use the ASTM Standard of lumber 15(IPPC-ISPM 15).
The lumber needs to be heat treated for the crates we make that are shipped overseas. The wood is treated so if any pests are living in the wood they cannot be reestablished in a new area. If new pests are introduced into new areas/countries this can cause an economic and environmental. The material is marked with a stamp that shows how the wood was processed.
As the ASTM standards are met in the material, we buy we are able to make crates that can ship overseas. Overseas shipping requires the material to be Heat treated and certified. We have the proper stamp and certification to make the crates. We purchase material from credible material distribution companies that are in Phoenix Arizona.
