Wooden crates are used as shipping container for any large or small items. There are many different crates that we have made over the years to have different items shipped. For example, we have made crates for wings on an airplane, engines, motorcycles, car tops, machinery, all the way to paintings, game tables to small items.
What are wooden crates used for?
Wooden shipping crates are highly customizable to secure the item that you are shipping. They can provide cushion and protection of the item. Using a crate is more secure than using just a pallet to ship your item. When we customize the crates, we take the item that is being shipped. We are going to ship a grandfather clock. Grand father clocks are shipped laying down. We make the crate the size of the clock to fit correctly. There is padding placed on the bottom and all the insides are secure. Then we brace the clock down for no chance of movement. Then it is ready to go!
We have crated a large fine painting that was in a A-frame. The A-frame is a type of crate that is tall and thin but cannot be shipped flat. The painting is surrounded by a dense foam and crated and 1×4 framed and then is placed on a pallet and secured down by 1x4s. The crate is very sturdy and safe.
Wooded crates are used to ship motors.
They are placed on blocks, so they are floating, which means they are not touching the ground. The motor is then braced and banded down to make sure it does not move. Then there is wood brace nailed inside on top of the motor. The lid is put on and ready to go.
With many things crated and shipped every day, there are many other uses for crates.
Other ideas are for everyday use. People use them to store items at there homes or work. They are used for decoration, and for holiday shows. At one point we made a coffin for a Halloween decoration. People have made crates look good! Decoration, using for storage and many other things is What are Wooden crates used for.
There is a way to crate any item! You just need to ask!
